It may be that my understanding and playing skills are lacking, but as of July 2021, I feel that the strategies introduced in the videos etc. do not work.

The continuous attack is repelled and counterattacked, and I feel that the fear can only be taken with Parry. Difficulty I only play on Berserker, so it may be different on other difficulty levels.

This time I will introduce how to defeat with a straight attack method without tricks.

Erik’s place of loyalty

The location can be found by heading for the mountains along the road from the back gate of Formburg. Two staircase marks are displayed as landmarks for the entrance, but the distance from the left side to Erik is short.

Proceeding through the cave, you will find yourself in an open area. One elderly person called himself Erik of loyalty, who was a strong enemy who couldn’t handle it at all.

I remember that the combat power at the first look was about 20. Yes, I gave up once and proceeded with the story. It was when the combat power was 35 that I came to the rematch.

Basically, in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it seems that the standard for one-on-one boss class battles is to judge the enemy’s attack and damage it with a counterattack. If you do not notice this, this game will not be able to proceed. 💦

There are only two types of attacks that can be avoided, called parry.

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, where stamina gauges are used, if you can aim for Parry, it has the effect of shaving the enemy’s stamina and accumulating the ability gauge, so it is stylish and recommended to practice and use it preferentially.

• In the first half with Erik’s stamina, he waits for Erik to set up at a distance, and then fights back together at Parry.
• In the second half when Erik’s stamina is gone, he responds by avoiding and earns damage by counterattacking.

If you choose to play, Erik has a high probability of attacking after the conversation. If you press the L1 button at the same time as the conversation is over, it is easy to determine the parry. When the parry is decided, it will move forward and hit the attack, but if it greedily hits repeatedly, it will be hit by Erik’s parry and will receive a counterattack.

Stop the counterattack after parry only once and go for the next parry!

～5 ax throws～

Erik has another ax-throwing ranged attack. This attack throws the ax 5 times, but the 1st to 4th throws with the same rhythm, and only the 5th throws with a delay of one tempo. You can avoid horizontal steps, but if you hit the avoidance button repeatedly, you tend to run out of stamina.

While moving sideways, I felt that it would be better to avoid the 1st, 3rd, and 5th throws and avoid them about 3 times.

～Stan attack～

If you cut off Erik’s stamina, you have a chance to attack. When Erik’s stamina gauge is running low, let’s go around while being aware of the stun attack!

Even if you are stunned, if you try to hit in a hurry, you will miss the chance.

～Standing around after losing stamina～

Erik, who has lost his stamina, will continue to shoot without fear even if he puts together a parry unlike before. From here, we will respond by avoiding steps without parry.

Erik when there is stamina, compared to the timing of backstepping and parrying after the attack was earlier, I feel that Erik after the stamina is gone has a slight interval to rebuild. Make good use of this as the timing of the counterattack.
