Elden Ring | Get the Sacrificial Ax!

The sacrificial ax will be dropped by an enemy called the Death Bird. However, if you were adventuring in a space between ordinary places, there is a possibility that you will reach the ending without encountering it.

Appearance place → Appearance condition → Precautions at the appearance place and battle with the dead bird will be introduced in this order.

Where the dead bird appears

As you can see from the map above, the Dead Bird is a boss-class enemy that appears on the “Weeping Peninsula” in the southern part of Rimgrave.

After crossing the bridge with the defense network and entering the weeping peninsula, head south along the road and you will see the blessing of “in front of the Morne wall”.

First, let’s aim for that!

A little south of the blessing, you will find an area on your right, separated by a rampart. If you proceed along the left side of the castle wall, you will reach the place where the “Bird of Death” appears.

Appearance condition

Death birds have conditions for appearance. It means that it only appears at “night“. Therefore, when you arrive at the blessing, adjust the time to make it “night”.

In the blessing in front of the Mohn wall, a night-only powerful enemy “Knight of the Night” appears. In the image below, you will come to this from the left side of the front tower. You are forced to choose between running away with a ghost horse or getting hungry and defeating.

Precautions at the place of appearance

Now, let’s talk about points to note and how to get around. It goes along the left side of the castle wall, but because it is night, “bats” are lurking along the way.

Bats with tricky movements are surprisingly insidious enemies. It is not uncommon to inadvertently die until you get used to it.

There are three bats just in front of the place where the dead bird appears, but if you do not eliminate this, it will be an obstacle when fighting the dead bird.

If you want to get rid of bats while riding on a ghost horse, be careful not to move too far. The reason is that a dead bird will appear in the middle of bat extermination.

As you can see from the image below, it appears in a big jump of a grafted nobleman. At the stage of the image below, I haven’t noticed it yet.

Fortunately, I didn’t die, but I was late to notice this event.

Play against the dead bird

Now, let me tell you what I personally felt when playing against the dead bird. In my case, it was a sudden encounter, so I think there are some points that I overlooked because I couldn’t observe enough.

Point ①

The dead bird facing each other in a crouched posture was unexpectedly large when I jumped into the foot, and I felt that my feet (around the crotch) tended to be a safe place.

Point ②

The hand holding the weapon is a stab attack, a triple swing attack, and a slamming attack with the other hand. Then, I confirmed an attack using a beak that would blow off the soil on the ground.

As long as you manage your stamina, you can guard any attack with a shield with a physical cut rate of 100%. However, if you rush to this place from the start of the game, it may not be the case, assuming that you have not been able to develop enough characters.

In other words, if you’re trying in close proximity, be aware that you’re jumping into your feet without taking a distance.

Dead birds often backstep to maintain their favorite distance. In this case, if there is no problem with stamina, guard the attack, if it is not stamina MAX, handle it by rolling avoidance and get into your feet.
