P2E MARS4 ｜ Basic knowledge of architecture

MARS4 is one of the metaverse games that everyone in the know knows. It is a game that combines the P2E mechanism, which has been increasing rapidly in the last few years. MARS4 introduced this time is a P2E NFT metaverse game that is expected to grow in the future, with the demo play version just launched in June 2022.

Review | What to do at the beginning of the game

It will be a duplicate of the content of the previous article, but let’s look at the priority at the start of the game, including the meaning of the review.

Fabricator Craft-Installation

When you start the game, you will interact with the two chests after getting the oxygen cylinder.

The fabricator parts are contained in these two chests. The inventory list will open immediately with the I key, so you will be instructed to craft the fabricator.

Destroy the rocks with an ice ax and search for construction sites while collecting mineral resources. A reasonably flat and wide place would be good.

Make a base with a tablet-shaped tool collected in the chest and install the completed fabricator.

Craft an arc furnace with a fabricator

Except for the architectural skeleton, most of the metal is needed. Mineral resources such as iron, aluminum, titanium, and silicon must be converted to metal using an arc furnace.

To survive on Mars, you need at least oxygen and a heater. To secure oxygen, an oxygen filling device is required, but it cannot be crafted without iron and energy cells.

Put iron ore and energy cells in the fabricator and craft an arc furnace.

When the arc furnace is completed, it will be installed and the collected mineral resources and energy cells will be put in to extract the metal.

Craft an oxygen filling device

Once the iron has been extracted in the arc furnace, put it in a fabricator with an energy cell to craft an oxygen filling device. Oxygen was secured with this, but there is no time to relax. The frigid night is approaching.

Craft a heater

When the night comes and the body temperature reaches 0 ° C, life begins to gradually decrease. The heater must be crafted before the life becomes 0. When the heater crafting was finished, it was finally a paragraph.

Crafting essentials

Wait for the day when your body temperature stabilizes and go out to collect mineral resources. There are still many things we need.

Here, we will introduce the things that need numbers.

Energy cell

There are not enough energy cells. It’s a good idea to have 10 or more.

Solar charging device

It is a charging device for energy cells. Energy cells consume more than expected, so a certain number of charging devices will be required.

Spare pick

Consumables are often overlooked. When you move an item to the hot bar (6 frames at the bottom of the play screen), there is a yellow bar at the bottom. This bar decreases with use and becomes unusable when it disappears.

Picks are one of the most frequently used items, so you need to keep a few in stock.

Chest craft

Things will overflow with the play time. The amount that can be carried is fixed, so a place to store it is required.

Oxygen generator craft

I think it’s okay to come, but it’s also convenient to have an oxygen generator. However, since this device operates only in a closed space, it will be in time even after the base and living space are ready.

Basic knowledge of architecture

Now let’s touch on the basic knowledge of architecture, which is the main subject. As a matter of course, there is a direct proportional relationship between the size of the building to be built and the necessary items. The larger the item, the more time it takes to collect mineral resources.

Basically from the collection of mineral resources

In architecture, we start by building a framework. In terms of the process, it will be skeleton → upgrade (there are two stages).

By upgrading, you can build a closed space. The difference between the first and second stages is only the current appearance. Although a closed space can be constructed by the first upgrade, it seems that there is no heat retention in the room, and by installing an oxygen generator, it is only possible to live indoors without an oxygen cylinder.

The story is a little off, but the materials required for each process are as shown in the figure below.

So, if you only think about architecture, you can conclude that you should collect iron ore and aluminum ore. Of course, if you destroy the rock with a pick, some kinds of mineral resources will appear. Looking ahead, it is good to collect all or only the necessary minerals.

How to build

First of all, with the materials necessary for the skeleton, construction is started using a tool shaped like a tablet (hereinafter tablet) and a tool shaped like a gun (hereinafter gun).

The tablet is used for the installation and combination of skeletons. With the gun, we will upgrade, change the orientation, and destroy things that have been installed by mistake.

How to use the tablet

After installing the tablet in the hot bar, press the corresponding number key on the keyboard and pick it up. Next, if you keep pressing the right click, the screen below will appear. While holding down the right click here, move the cursor to the part you want to install and release the click to start the installation work.

The base is basically a square or a triangle, so it’s a good idea to choose either. Before installation, the orientation can be rotated with the mouse roller.

Construction begins by expanding the installed foundation and adding stairs and walls. There is no doubt that this work will be addictive to those who are stabbed.

Architectural precautions and tips

There are two things I want to keep in mind when building. Speaking in detail, there is no sharpness, so it is good to suppress the two things that will be explained at first.

One, the land on Mars is not well maintained, so it is almost always tilted. Observe the land of the planned construction site carefully and understand how the slope is.

Be sure to start from a high place and build to a low place. If you start from a low place, you may not be able to install the parts before you reach the planned size.

Be careful especially when building a large dome.

Two: Scaffolding is used to make scaffolding in the air, but for some reason it may not be possible to install it. (Not always.)

In that case, there are cases where a triangular top material can be installed, so it may be possible to install a square top material again by combining it as shown in the image below. It’s a good idea to remember.

Architecture to the upper layer

Stairs are required to proceed to the 2nd and 3rd floors and the upper floors. There is also an easy procedure for installing stairs.

1. Set up the foundation
2. Install a wall on the base
3. Install the top material on the wall
4. Install stairs

And so on, we will extend to the upper floors. I will explain while looking at the image from now on.

Attach the wall material to the base as shown in the image below. The stairs that can be installed are bent at 90 degrees, and the position where the wall material is attached is the place where you climbed the stairs. In the case of the image below, the stairs going up to the upper right will be installed.

It doesn’t matter whether the stairs come first or the top lumber that serves as a scaffold comes first. In the image below, the top material that serves as a scaffold is installed first.

There are two ways to install the stairs, one is to install it first and then use a gun to correct the direction, and the other is to rotate it with a mouse roller before installing it. Here, I tried to install it by the former method, which also serves as an explanation of how to use the gun.

After installing the stairs, switch to the gun and left-click on the right side of the three divisions while holding down the right click. With one left click, the stairs will turn 90 degrees, so click as many times as you need.

If you want to install the stairs again after the second stage, install the wall material on the scaffolding and then install the stairs first. After installing the stairs, the procedure is to go up the stairs and attach the scaffolding.

This method makes it easier to attach the scaffolding to the next floor if it extends spirally up.

Frame upgrade

As mentioned earlier, the purpose of the upgrade is to create a closed space. Of course, there is also the purpose of building an appearance and living space, but I think that it is to install an oxygen generator and create a living space that does not require an oxygen cylinder.

From here, how to use the gun. If you hold down the right click while holding the gun, the screen below will appear.

What you can do with a gun is to destroy the upper left, change the direction on the right, and upgrade on the lower left.

This time it’s an upgrade, so click on the bottom left to consume materials and upgrade.

If you upgrade the second stage in the same way, it will turn into a stylish and luxurious staircase.

A closed space will be built on the wall in the first stage, so let’s work toward the closed space first. If you want to attach a window to the wall, you need to install a window type at the skeleton stage. Of course, the tempered glass that becomes the window needs to be processed separately with a fabricator.
