Recommended melee weapon in the early stages | Its name is Butter Knife

The weapon that can be obtained in this subquest is a melee weapon called Butter Knife. As a melee weapon in the early stages, it has firepower (attack power) that can be recommended. I do not deny the content introduced in this article, but as mentioned in the previous section, it is true that long-range weapons have an advantage in combat.

My interpretation of the battle part in the game ELEX II is as follows.

• If you want to enjoy a tense battle through trial and error, use a melee weapon
• Ranged weapons if you want to make the fight as safe as possible

Subquest | Artist’s Weapon

Butter Knives can be obtained by accepting subquests from the blacksmith in Berserker’s base and clearing them. “Berserker’s base will be the first force most players arrive at.”

Here, in order to enter the base first, you need to complete a quest to convince the gatekeeper. “Once you’ve successfully obtained permission to enter, follow the guide’s explanation and then visit the blacksmith.” As with Skyrim and Witcher, the occurrence frequency of subquests is derived from conversations with NPCs, so before you know it, the log on the menu screen will overflow with a large number of subquests.

I think that it is better to give priority to the “artist’s weapon” introduced this time.

Contact Blacksmith Lasse

As you can guess from the image below, the client this time, the blacksmith Lasse, is located to the left along the road from the entrance.

When you talk to him, you will be given the option of requesting weapon production, so if you choose this, the quest will be released.

If you check the log on the menu screen, you will find “Artist’s Weapon” in the Tavar category. When you move the cursor to this, you can navigate to the destination by marking it on the map (corresponding key on the bottom right of the screen).

By hunting the target monster in two places, the necessary materials are gathered. Since the battle will take place in two locations, it is recommended to save frequently when arriving at the destination or defeating the target monster. “I don’t want to die and start all over again.”

Destination (East side)

It depends on the character level when you accepted the quest, but be careful of the Wet Lurker you face here. It burrows underground and attacks the player with a high jump from out of sight. “Because of its high firepower, it’s often the case that you’re on the brink of death.”

Once you’ve confirmed that it’s going underground, it’s easier to avoid being hit by constantly sprinting.

After defeating it, you can obtain the necessary materials by searching the corpse.

Beware of Night Ogre

At the beginning of the game, a formidable Night Ogre is roaming near your destination. If you fall into battle with this, it’s firepower will kill you in one hit.

If you see the figure, save the data immediately and save the process so far.

Destination (West)

This is relatively easy. “Wait for it to emerge from the river and defeat it in battle on a good footing.”

Deliver the collected materials to Lasse

Once you have collected the materials at the two locations, you can then fast travel to Lasse.

When I gave the materials to Lasse, he said with a refreshing expression that it would take a week to make the weapon. “What should I do for a week, and how do I count the days?” “I’m confused.” However, if you think about it calmly, you will realize that you can advance the time by repeating sleep.

There is a place to sleep right next to Lasse Blacksmith. “If you turn around in the direction you came from, you’ll see a house.”

I have a bed in my house. You can advance the time by meeting 7 or 8 times in the morning or afternoon here.

It’s time to finally receive your weapon and check its performance. Lasse speaks confidently, and the weapon’s name is a butter knife.

It’s a one-handed weapon with poison attributes, and although the equipment requirements are a little high, it also comes with 3 sockets. “In the beginning, I personally felt that it was quite a substitute.”

A socketing bench is used to attach gems to sockets. “This bench is located within each faction’s base, so it’s a good idea to remember the location.”

Since it’s a big deal, let’s do a trial slash with a suitable monster and tell Lasse what you think. “Even though it’s a strong weapon, ELEX II isn’t so sweet that it can defeat monsters that have struggled in the past with one or two blows.” When fighting, basically, rolling diagonally forward and slashing from the back or sides of the enemy will make it easier to wince and knock them down.

When I returned to express my impressions, I didn’t get anything physical, but enjoying conversations with NPCs is the real pleasure of ELEX II. “It’s a pity that the Japanese translation is a bit vague, but Lasse’s translation is relatively decent.”
