ELEX II | Treasure hunt at the base of the invaders

As I introduced in the previous article, I found out that the invader’s stronghold had a rare weapon, and after taking a taste, I went to the next place. The harvest this time was the discovery of rare melee weapons and more dangerous areas.

In this search, I was able to solve future problems, so I would like to introduce them.

Treasure hunt in Epsilara

Recently, the main character, Jax, has been blacked out frequently due to the effects of infection. “This time, we were flown near a fast travel point called Epsilara.” “There is an invader’s base here, so I decided to carry out a treasure hunt.”

For those unfamiliar with the game, blackout is a phenomenon in which the screen suddenly turns black and is transferred to another location. “The current rule is that the target you are sent to is near the invader’s base.” “This law does not seem to change in the future.”

Epsilara’s location

First, take a look at the image below. Epsilara existed in a place west of the 6th power Bastion. “The place circled in red is the entrance to the base of the invaders.”

It’s too far to explore on foot, and unless you’re lucky enough to get there, you’ll never find it.

Rare Weapons Available in Epsilara

A one-handed melee weapon named Cutter is available. It’s the first lightning attribute weapon I’ve ever owned, and as a matter of course, it comes with 3 socket slots.

The offensive power is appealing, so I’d like to try playing in a close combat style.

Ranged Weapons and Enough Ammo

As many of you may already know, I think it’s advantageous to use long-range weapons in ELEX II when dealing with strong enemies or a large number of opponents. However, I set the shotgun system and heavy weapon system in the quick slot.

Ammunition can be purchased from Trainer Smith in the Bastion base. “We will prepare about 400 shots each with plenty of time to spare.”

Consecutive purchases are not possible, but by completing one quest, the inventory will be revived and you can purchase it again. “If you mainly play with long-range weapons, make a habit of regularly replenishing your ammunition.”

Things to keep in mind

There are many fierce battles awaiting where you can get rare weapons. “When you die, you don’t want to be sent back to the fast travel point and start over.” “It is recommended to save frequently.”

Various items are dropped in the invader’s base. Eliminate enemies → Don’t forget to collect items.

Inside the Invader Base

Maybe it’s related to the time of day, but the base I’m exploring this time feels a little dark. This is the second invader’s base, and you will notice that the interior is mostly composed of a cave area, a plant area, a technology area, and a central area with rare weapons.

When you go inside and go down the slope, suddenly a heavyweight behemoth will come towards you. “It looks like it’s going to unleash a heavy blow, so keep your distance and defeat it with a shotgun.” Due to the distance from the game start point, there are many types and numbers of enemies in the base this time, and the large class stands out.

You can see the shadow of a humanoid enemy in the tunnel leading to the next area. “When I got closer, it was a giant with a projectile.” “I don’t even have time to catch my breath this time.”

Already tired of fighting, I shifted to fighting with heavy weapons. Heavy weapons that use rockets as ammunition can knock down enemies when they hit them, so it’s easy to deal with two slow-moving enemies.

This is a tactic that requires a lot of ammunition.

At the invader’s base, you can’t complain because you can get a lot of experience points in exchange for hard work. “In fact, it’s a fun place for me, who loves dying games.” “If you ask me, I’d be happy if the character controls and motions were of Elden Ring quality.” “I’m looking forward to the next work.

Compared to the place I explored last time, there are many branch points and it is wide. “Battles are basically outnumbered.” “I started to regret boarding alone.” 💦

As it progresses, mechanical objects become more prominent. “Is it a defensive measure? Changes in the number and quality of enemies will also appear.”

From this point on, I feel that it is important to carefully defeat each one carefully. “Basically, it’s a matter of keeping your distance, so you’ll have to repeatedly move forward and retreat when encountering enemies to defeat them.”

Central part

After fighting so many times that I didn’t know how far it had progressed, finally a familiar place appeared in front of me. “This is the place where the dark erex shoots up, where rare weapons are found.” “The road up to this point has been to the right and to the right at the fork.”

As expected, it was a nest for soldiers who used melee weapons and long-range weapons. “As soon as you step inside, you’re likely to be turned into a beehive with a ranged weapon.”

Here, carefully lure them one by one to the passage in front of you and defeat them. Also, recovering in a halfway place can be a good target. “Retreat to the safety of the antechamber, recover, and proceed to the battlefield again.”

After trying several times, I found that if you rush to the upper area where there is a rare weapon, the enemies below will not chase you. By using this, if you save after obtaining a rare weapon, even if you die later, you will restart after obtaining the rare weapon.

Most of the enemies will attack with long-range weapons, so moving your character left and right to the stairs will reduce your chances of being hit.

As long as you reach the stairs, all you have to do is to run up at once and win the titman with the enemy on the top.

This is compatible with rare weapon GET. Enemies below will not chase you, but if you provoke them from above, they will shoot at you and throw grenades, so be careful.

The harvest this time is a cutter that has far more firepower than any other melee weapon I currently own.

There is still an area below

When I checked the surroundings after taking out a layer of enemies, I found a staircase leading further down.

There is a poisonous gas area below, and there are enemies, so it is judged that it is impossible to capture with the current skill. “That’s the subject for the next time.”

At the end

I don’t want to sell the rare weapon I got, but it’s a good price. As I’ve said many times, ELEX II gets through the early stages where it’s easy to feel boring, and the more you play and level up, the more interesting the story becomes.

Even if I think I have to play Elden Ring from the second week onwards and Thymesia, I can’t help but start up ELEX II and play. Partly because I’m clumsy, and partly because I can’t play several games at the same time, I feel like I’ve only been looking at the ELEX II screen lately.
