Hogwarts Legacy ｜Fairy, Catch Bag and Loom

メインストーリーを進めると、やがて発生するクエスト「妖精と捕獲袋と織機と」、これを優先的にクリアすることを推奨する記事となります。　何故なら、これをクリアすることで捕獲袋と織機が解放されるからです。

ホグワーツ・レガシーでは数多くサイドクエストも出現するため、あれやこれやと目移りしてしまい、後から「このクエスト、もっと早くやっておけば良かった」なんて事にならないよう、この記事で紹介しておきます。

What is the quest [Fairy, Capture Bag, and Loom]?

The content of the quest is to learn how to use the “capture bag” as a way to save magical animals from Deek, the main character’s caretaker who lives in the Necessary Room. “The loom will also be unlocked during this quest.”

A trap bag is used to capture magical animals and is an essential tool to carry. “You can sell the captured magical animals, so it’s a useful tool for making money like a poacher.”

捕獲した魔法動物は、必要の部屋から新たに追加された動物園的な空間で放し飼いが可能となります。　魔法動物は、餌を与えブラッシングしお世話をすることで、装備の強化素材や魔法薬の合成素材を生産します。

装備品のアバター左肩に丸い穴が開いているのは、特性を付与できることを表しています。　このスロットに特性を付与するために必要となる道具が織機です。　特性を付与するためには、各々の特性に応じた素材を消費するわけですが、その素材が捕獲した魔法動物を世話することで得られるようになります。

Quest content

クエストが発生したら、必要の部屋に戻ることで自動的にスタートします。　見つけたバッグの使い方を教えるので、準備できたら声をかけるようディークから言われます。　再びディークに近寄り、対応ボタンを押すと野外授業の開始です。

1. Capture 3 types of magical animals.
2. Return to the Room of Requirement and breed the captured magical animals.
3. Spawns a loom that grants equipment upgrades and attributes.

The content of the quest can be cleared by speaking to Deek after roughly following the steps above.

Capture 3 magical animals

Let’s do our best and take a capture class. “It seems that there are capture levels for different magical animals, some animals can be captured simply with a single button, while others cannot be captured unless combined with a spell.”

At the time of writing this article, I have just cleared the quest, so I haven’t experienced all the magical animals. “However, there is no difference from the witches and wizards who are about to be released from their trapping bags.”

Set a catch bag

Like spells, catch bags are assigned to slots to be used.

How to increase spell slots

Spell slots are talents that are unlocked when you progress through the main quests to a certain extent, so let’s increase the number of slots that can be used. As you can see in the image below, when talents in the menu are released, you will be able to learn various things by consuming talent points.

To increase the spell slot, go to Talent → Core, and you can release 3 levels at the marked part in the image below. If you open all of them, you will be able to set a total of 16 by switching with the four-way controller up, down, left, and right.

Capturing Puffskane

Puffskein is only the first captured animal, and can be easily captured once the distance is closed.

When you activate the capture bag from the spell slot, a round charge meter will appear, so you can capture it by pressing the square button when it appears.

Capturing Jobanor

Jobbernolls are often flying around, and even when captured, it takes 2 laps of the charge meter, so it is necessary to use the Arrest Momentum spell to slow down their movement.

It will start moving when the spell effect disappears, so you can’t take it too long. For magical animals that require several laps of the charge meter, it’s a good idea to hit the □ button repeatedly when catching them.

Capturing Mooncalf

Mooncalf is nocturnal and is a very cautious magical animal. “It seems necessary to combine Dazzling and Arrest Momentum.”

How to reverse day and night

Mooncalf only spawns at night. “In other words, it must be at night.”

When you open the map on the menu screen, the key corresponding to “Wait” should be displayed at the bottom. “If you use this, day and night will be reversed.”

Mooncalf appears at night. “I personally like animals quite a bit.” “If it notices you, it will run away, so if you use a blinding technique and wait, it will come back.”

When it came back, I decided to stop and capture it with Arrest Momentum. Capturing Mooncalf requires 3 laps of the charge meter, so it was necessary to quickly use the capture bag after Arrest Momentum.

Return to the Room of Requirement and breed the captured magical animals

When you return to the Room of Requirement, a conversation with Deek will begin and a new room will appear. When a door like the image below appears, a beautiful natural space is formed on the other side. “This is a new home for magical animals, where the player can create a zoo-like space.”

Let’s release the captured magical animals and take care of them by feeding and brushing them. “Magical animals generate materials.”

It can also be decorated with spawn spells. “There are installation restrictions, but it’s fun to decorate it to your liking.”

Grant equipment upgrades and traits

Return to the Room of Requirement and place the Loom with an Emergence Spell. “The time has come to use the materials obtained from the magical animals earlier.” 　Equipment icons with a round slot on the upper left can be given characteristics. “It’s like a Goseki in Monster Hunter.”

After enjoying the loom, talk to Deek again to complete the quest. By breeding magical animals, collecting materials, raising money by selling magical animals, upgrading equipment, and clearing the fairies, capture bags, and looms, you will be able to do more things at once. “For those of you who haven’t yet, I would like you to keep this in mind.”
