Smalland |I would like to recommend gliding armor
As you can see from the title, this time I will introduce the equipment (armor). I think that the number of armors will increase in future updates, but in the current state of early access, the two armors that allow you to glide are personally convenient and useful.

Those of you who know me will know, but I’ll let you know.

Introduction
グライディングアーマーとは?
For those of you who have just started playing, let me give you a quick introduction. Basically, just like the laws adopted in many games, in this work as well, when new armor is released, the performance and characteristics tend to improve. At the current stage of early access, there are 6 NPCs and 7 types of armor.
The seven types of armor differ in attack resistance, defensive power, cold resistance, etc. The two armors introduced this time are characterized by having wings. “This wing is not just a decoration, it can glide.” Because it’s gliding, it’s slightly different from flying, and armor that can move from high to low like a flying squirrel.
In short, it’s a gliding armor because it can glide.
リーガルアーマーとアイアンウィングアーマー
Right out of the box, the armor I’m going to introduce this time is the following two. Each piece of armor is given a name for each part, but here the set is collectively referred to as armor. And since it’s the torso that has wings attached, if you’re crafting it for the purpose of gliding, you can just use the torso.
Regal Armor

Regal Armor can be crafted by NPC Dorstana in a location approximately north of the starting point. You can meet them relatively early in the game, but room and spindles are required to craft armor.

- Required materials (for one set)
- 3 bee heads
- Chitin 30 pieces
- 15 textile patches
- Insect wings 10 pieces
- HELP TILE LEATHER 5 pieces
iron wing armor

Iron Wing Armor is like a higher version of Legal Armor. “Except for durability, all stats are one level higher.” Wings are required for the main part of the Gliding Armor’s torso, and the wings used for this Iron Wing are the [Sapphire Wings] obtained by defeating the Black Hornet boss.
You can’t just collect the materials you need, you have to craft them. “It was very difficult for me, a beginner in survival, to have the necessary equipment.”

- Required materials (for one set)
- 15 fibers
- Solid chitin 6 pieces
- 7 iron ingots
- 8 pieces of charcoal
- Insect fur 3 pieces
- Sapphire wings 1 piece
Gliding ability is given to the torso part
If you only glide, craft only the torso
As I mentioned a little in the previous section, if your goal is to glide, you only need to wear the torso. “It would be nice to combine it with other armor and coordinate it to your liking.”

It is also good to enjoy in combination with other armor!

Corresponding NPC

Every armor has a dedicated crafter (NPC). The map on the left is the MAP that will be released in early access, but the NPCs corresponding to the armor introduced this time are the people displayed in the upper right and upper left.
In the next section, we will introduce it together with an enlarged view.
Explanation with MAP

The NPC circled in red on the map above has the gliding armor crafting technology.
- Dorstana (upper right)
- An NPC that crafts Regal Armor. It’s relatively close to the starting point, so it’s okay to visit for the first time, but if you can’t craft the room and spindle, you won’t make any progress, so I think it’s best to prepare well before going.
- Knock (upper left)
- I like the iron wing armor that you can craft here, and I love it so much that I use it regularly, but personally, collecting materials and crafting materials besides winning boss battles is a long way to go.
Also, since it is an NPC related to the story, let’s just visit it. The area where NPCs reside is a place to collect heavy chitin and iron shadows, which are materials for iron ingots, so it would be a good idea to set up a camp nearby and work on collecting them.
Reasons for Gliding Armor
Movement becomes dramatically convenient and fun. In particular, the Iron Wing Armor has high defense, so it will be a strong ally in the final boss [King Stag Beetle] battle in early access.
- Glide down from the top of the Great Tree
- You can jump over rivers and valleys if you can use the height difference
- It is also effective when escaping from insects by gliding using the height difference
How to operate gliding and points to note
How to operate gliding
Movement and viewpoint control while gliding are performed with the left and right sticks in the same manner as during walking. “To start gliding, press the jump button again after jumping to enter the gliding state.”

Gliding consumes stamina, but even if stamina runs out, there is no change in gliding movement. To restore your stamina, press the jump button again while gliding to enter a free fall state and your stamina will start recovering immediately.

Notes on gliding
Gliding consumes stamina, as explained in How to Glide. “Even if your stamina reaches 0, you won’t see any changes in your posture or movement.” However, if you hit the ground or an obstacle while your stamina is 0, you will receive the same damage as if you fell.
In other words, if the gliding start point is high enough to kill, death will be confirmed at the time of contact with the ground or obstacles.

Stamina management during gliding is very important, and it is necessary to adjust so that even a little stamina remains at the point of contact with the ground or obstacles.
最後に
summary
At this stage of Early Access, things you can equip and craft are limited. However, this game is very accessible and fun to play for survival game beginners like me, unless you’re not good at insects.
I think the gliding armor I introduced this time is a very good piece of equipment that expands the range of play. In particular, I felt that gliding was a very effective means of escaping when I was being attacked by insects with the beast full mode off.
It takes a bit of effort to craft, but it’s worth it, so I hope you pick it up and enjoy your gliding life.
That’s all for now. “Let’s meet again in another article.” “I hope that this article will be of some help.”
