Steelrising｜Vaucanson workshop

This time, we will proceed with Vaucanson’s workshop. Aigis came all the way here under the order of Marie Antoinette to find out the whereabouts of Vaucanson, the creator of the automata. It seems that the main point of this work is to unravel the truth of the French Revolution in Steelrising while repeatedly fighting automata that block your way.。

New weapons and boss battles along the way!

Investigate Vaucanson’s Workshop

In order to investigate this workshop, it seems that you must reach the upper floor. 　You need to use the stairs or the elevator to go upstairs.

The stairs are blocked by junk and cannot be used.

It seems that the steam pump that powers the elevator installed outside is not working.

In other words, you can’t advance the story unless you activate the steam pump and investigate on the upper floor of the workshop.

The world of Steelrising is visually projected as an open world, but in fact it is a system that connects separated areas.

In other words, it skillfully uses buildings and obstacles to create an intricate maze-like structure. The destinations in each section are close when viewed in a straight line, but the players get lost as they go back and forth between buildings and obstacles and get lost, so they feel very far away.

Things to do with priority

The action that should be taken with priority is to secure a shortcut course. “In this game, if you destroy Aigis, you will have to restart from the last stop at Westa.” As I mentioned earlier, the route to the destination is not short, so the shortcut door is extremely important.

In many cases, the basic mechanism is to reach the other side of the door and open it.

Enter the factory group from the workshop and go straight, you will find the first shortcut door on the left of the wall at the end.

In order to open this, there is a doorway to enter the building on the right side of the wall at the end. The image below is a picture going straight from Vaucanson’s workshop. “Let’s go inside the building on the right.”

In short, enter the building on the right first, proceed upstairs, follow the scaffolding outside, and proceed into the building where the first shortcut door is located.

Go along the scaffolding, enter the building, and go down the stairs to reach the location in the next image. The door is right there, so after opening it, use the stairs on the unused side to go up.

The second shortcut door is just inside the Industrial Harbor area. “First, please see the image below.” “This place is just inside the industrial port area.”

The industrial port is reached by sliding down the eaves from the upper floor and following the route indicated by the green arrow. Vaucanson’s workshop can be seen in the back, and opening the second shortcut door will complete the shortest route to the industrial port.

Third shortcut door

The third shortcut door is located immediately to the right as you enter the industrial harbor. However, it cannot be opened from this side, so let’s open the second shortcut door and go down to the port.

Of course, enemy automata are waiting, so it’s up to the player to fight or run through. “If you go through the port where the wood is placed, there will be stairs, so if you go up, you should see a shortcut door.”。

Combat at the entrance to the industrial complex

Although the order of the road is reversed, if you enter the industrial group from Vaucanson’s workshop without thinking about it, you will be in a state of melee. “Aegis can be destroyed early on, so you need to think a little while fighting.”

There are three enemy automata here, and the troublesome one is the long-range attack from the high ground in ②. And the third enemy is surprisingly difficult to notice. At first, it hides in the shadows of the wood and approaches when the player enters the field of view of ③.

Speaking of the order to defeat, it will be as the number in the image. ① is approaching Aigis, so it’s best to use the wood on the left as a shield. The long-range attack in ② is surprisingly accurate, so it’s dangerous to stand still and fight.

As shown in the image below, it is important to position yourself in the shade of the wood and fight while constantly moving.

After destroying ①, dash to ②. “From here on, ③ will be approaching, so speed is key.” By attacking ② and dropping it from the high ground to Vaucanson’s workshop side, you can delay the approach of ③. “After that, jump down from the high ground while carrying ② and do your best to destroy it as quickly as possible.”

Get the Wheel of Vengeance

New weapons are hidden on the way to the boss battle. This weapon, called the Battle Ring of Vengeance, has a counter-attack that deals fire damage to special moves and accumulates. “In other words, it will be a weapon for those who play with Parry.”

Also, since it is a heavy weapon, it has the disadvantage of being slow to launch normal attacks.

Where to get

It can be obtained from the industrial port, in the lower floors of the tower shown in the image below. You can reach the place by following the suspended scaffolding near the third shortcut door.

When you reach the target tower entrance, go down the stairs inside. “Watch out for enemies hiding in the shadows along the way.”

If you go to the bottom floor, there will be a chest, so open it and get it.

Boss Forger Battle

This boss battle can be said to be very easy. “There are several obstacles in the battle area, and if you use them as shields, it will take some time, but you can get around safely.”

As shown in the image below, place an obstacle between the Forger and attack while guiding it. “Weapons with long reach and quick attacks are effective.”

Forger also has an excellent weapon with a long reach and quick release, so it is necessary to quickly dodge backwards after attacking. “If you hold it down, you should be able to destroy it relatively safely.”

If you can destroy Forger, you can free Westa and you can take a breather.

The reward was Anima Essence 1312, a level 1 module and a module key.

After the Forger fight, it’s finally time to go fix the steam pump. Along the way, there are enemy placement locations that make good use of the terrain, and if you don’t proceed with caution, they may break.

Once you reach the pump safely, repair it and return to Vaucanson’s workshop. “At this time, you can arrive by following the road without going back the way you came.”

Elevator to upper floor

When you move to the upper floor with an elevator, a movie will occur. “There is a man there, his name is Lafayette.”

It seems that he came to the workshop for the same purpose as Aigis. Its purpose is to learn the secret of the tireless automata from Vaucanson.

There are several letters and notes in the workshop, and by reading these, you can feel as if a person named Count Cagliostro is the mastermind. “The truth is still shrouded in mystery, but the fact of Aegis’ birth was revealed in the movie.”
