Steelrising ｜Ends at Versailles

The time has finally come for the final chapter. A heart-wrenching ending awaits

Since this is the final part of the main quest, the labyrinth-like path will get you a little lost. For those who are currently playing or plan to play in the future, don’t get frustrated and find a steady route.

Up to the mid-boss gargoyle

When you arrive in front of Versailles, a screen that seems to immerse you in the scenery will appear on the monitor. The gate that seems to be the main entrance cannot be opened, suggesting a path diagonally to the right.

Entering Versailles

Now, we entered the site, but it is the beginning of a long road, partly because it is before the ending. “I don’t remember where, but it’s rare for an enemy to attack alone, and mass assaults are the norm.” On the other side of the stone statue construction in the back of the image below, a jaguar type (a wild dog, if you will) was waiting.

Although this guy has low durability, you need to be careful of its erratic bombardment. “It may depend on Aigis’s fire resistance value, but my Aigis will be in the state of being hit by fire after being hit twice.” “It’s not uncommon for them to be easily destroyed when dealing with multiple opponents.”

Lure them to the front of the stone statue, carefully destroy them one by one, and then proceed to the back. “Besides these wild dogs, there are other enemies waiting for us.”

If you go further inside the building, you will find the long-awaited Westa. “After releasing Westa, check the direction of travel.” There is a grappling hook on the upper left facing the direction you came from Westa, and a movie point on the right.

In this work, there are cases where you can’t get the items to proceed unless you watch the movie, so it’s best to stop by movie points as much as possible. “By watching the movie, you will be more immersed in the story.”

After moving up with the grappling hook, go through the room and onto where the statue was.

If you proceed while searching for a passable place, you will reach the place in the image below. Move to the other side with the jump + selenite exercise device, and proceed while searching for a path again. “It’s complicated, but basically it’s either a dead end or you can progress.”

The Garden of Versailles is where you climb, jump, and jump down, and there are multiple enemies along the way, so be careful not to destroy them. Until you reach Westa, the relay point, it will be difficult to return if it is destroyed.

I arrived at the area called the Petit Trianon Palace, but the gate to the palace is closed and I can not proceed. “Anyway, there are multiple enemies on the main street, so I avoided facing them directly and proceeded to the side street on the opposite side.”

Crown Prince’s Labyrinth

If you go a little further, you will arrive at a place called the crown prince’s labyrinth. A small skirmish will occur in the forward left direction, which is the direction of travel.

I could have ignored it and rushed ahead, but I didn’t know the clear direction, so I decided to deal with it. In the case of multiple battles involving spider types, we basically try to defeat the spider type first. I don’t know if all spider types have a healing effect due to lack of study, but if there is a healing effect, the battle will be prolonged.

My theory is that in action games, the battle time is proportional to the probability of death. The theory is that the longer the battle goes on, the higher the probability of accidents, and the higher the risk of death.

Gargoyle is a type that performs a spinning attack, and although the details are different, the basic movement is the same as similar types. “What you should be aware of here is that there are enemies other than gargoyles.” It’s easy to overlook because the gargoyles will steal your consciousness, but there are enemies standing on several of the surrounding pillars.

A mechanism that starts moving when approaching a certain distance. “When you move around in a battle with a gargoyle, it transforms into a miserable state like the image below.” “Staying around under the circular stairs as much as possible is probably the trick to making the battle easier.”

Successfully win the battle and free Westa. “Even if Aegis is destroyed in the future, it will be possible to restart from here.”

Once Vesta is ready, destroy the nearby wall to proceed.

Beyond the destroyed wall, there was a place with an atmosphere close to nature. “It looks like you can proceed without hesitation from here.”

New Weapons Labrys and Frankiska

If you clear the subquest “Memories of the Crown Prince” here, you will find the Duchess of Polignac and Lafayette instead of Queen Marie. Go further. 　Facing in the direction of travel, the movie point is on the left, and the broken wall in the back right is the way to go.

At the movie point, we will touch on the past of Aigis, who will perform a dance at Versailles.

If you get off to the left of the broken wall, you will come to a place like the main street you just passed.

Here you have to use the chateau key you got earlier to open the door at the end. “There are several enemies up to the door, so carefully destroy them from the front.” “In order to avoid multiple battles as much as possible, we will advance and retreat a little while luring them in and destroying them.”

Royal tree-lined street

The other side of the door opened with the chateau key seems to be an area called Royal Avenue. “Because Westa is right in front of you, release it and proceed to the next area from here.” “If you’ve come this far, the ending is just around the corner.”

If you proceed with the search without getting lost, you will arrive at a place like the image below. Here, as shown by the red arrow, you can’t proceed unless you jump from the right side of the stairs + use the selenite exercise device to move to the left side of the stairs.

If you go up the stairs on the left, you will arrive at the place in the image below. If you open the front door, you will find the Royal Tree-lined Vesta, and if you proceed to the right, there will be a door that leads to the Movie Point and the main entrance to Versailles.

The movie shows a scene where Aigis is given as an escort to Queen Marie.

There is an “alternative lever” on the left side of the door that leads to the front of Versailles, so don’t forget to collect it before proceeding to the other side of the door. This alternate lever will be used to open the main entrance to Versailles.

After returning to the front entrance, the carriage finally prepares to head to the ending.

First, destroy the two bodies in front of the entrance, then use the alternate lever to open the front entrance. “If you go inside, the final boss battle will be right there.”

Last Boss/Iron Queen Battle

If you enter the main entrance and go up the scaffold immediately ahead, the final boss battle will be forced to start. After watching the splendid Aigis movie, the battle begins.

Attack motion and fighting (first half)

In the second half, it will be a move that irradiates in the horizontal direction at high speed, so it will be difficult to get the timing to counterattack.

bombardment

The bombardment will shoot several times, so you can respond by moving sideways or dodging. Once you get used to it, you will be able to approach and attack while closing the distance with evasive attacks.

range attack

If you move like looking up at the sky, a ranged attack will be launched. “There’s no time to counterattack, so hurry up and dodge backwards or dash to get some distance.”

Attack motion and fighting (second half)

When her health falls below half, Iron Queen will perform a move that radiates energy throughout her body. “From here on, the attack pattern will also change.”

wide range attack

As shown in the image below, a wide range attack that looks like a napalm bomb will be added. “The entire screen will emit light, so I think it’ll be fine if we retreat quickly.”

In the second half, jump attacks like the image below are frequently performed. The jump attack is a technique that quickly approaches and attacks at the same time as landing, but I felt that it was very easy to counter. “In other words, a jump attack is a great chance.”

Until the destruction of the iron queen, it will be settled with a counter that matches the jump attack.

The power of the Iron Queen

The Iron Queen’s driving soul is either Madame Cognac or Queen Marie. “This tells you who was standing in the Petit Trianon Palace.” In other words, it is related to whether or not the subquest “Memories of the Crown Prince” has been cleared.

If you have cleared the Crown Prince’s memories, Queen Marie will be detained as your driving force, and if you have not, Madame Cognac will be detained as your driving force.

There is no time to catch your breath, and you immediately move to the ending. “So you’re invited to a heart-wrenching scene here.” After defeating the Iron Queen, Aigis restrains Louis XVI.

new game + liberation
